Brian H. Clark
Brian H. Clark received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from the University of Maryland with a major in Criminology and minor in Psychology. He graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. He was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and grew up in Ocean City. He graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin, Maryland, located just outside Ocean City. During his high school and college years, Brian worked for his family’s numerous businesses they owned in Ocean City. Prior to becoming licensed to practice law in Maryland, he enjoyed a successful 15 year career as a loan officer and vice- president in the mortgage banking industry, where he was recognized for implementing innovative approaches and surpassing expectations in revenue and customer satisfaction. In the mortgage business, Brian fine-tuned his individualized client-centered approach. Brian understands that every client is faced with unique circumstances and he strives to provide a unique, individualized approach to each case.
During law school, Brian assisted in the prosecution of numerous criminal cases for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office under the Rule 16 program (permitting qualified law students to prosecute hundreds of cases in a supervised environment). Brian gained experience in a variety of District Court criminal cases, serious traffic/DUI cases, and juvenile cases, including bench trials. He won his first criminal trial before graduating law school and participated in his first jury trial shortly after graduation. After graduation from law school, Brian assisted a senior Montgomery County State’s Attorney in preparing for felony drug trials in the Circuit Court. His time in the State’s Attorney’s Office was invaluable.
He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, National College of DUI Defense, The National Trial Lawyers Associations, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and American Bar Association. He has completed numerous seminars sponsored by MICPEL, MCDAA and the University of Baltimore involving DUI defense, evidence, criminal procedure and trial strategies. He completed the three day National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) and International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) course in DWI detection and field sobriety testing that police officers undergo. Completion of this course has been an invaluable tool in Brian’s ability to successfully defend DUI cases. Only a rare percentage of DUI lawyers have completed this training.
Brian has handled countless DUI and criminal cases with successful results. Brian works each case to identify available defenses and triable issues. He communicates with his clients to review case strategies and approaches. Many DUI and criminal cases result in a bench trial if a favorable plea outcome is not in the client’s best interest. Each case is prepared for trial. Brian understands that the legal profession is a service industry and clients must receive excellent customer service, attention to detail, broad knowledge, and a passionate voice that delivers the best results possible on their behalf. Brian is known for going the extra mile for his clients and keeping them informed on a constant and consistent basis. His client reviews online confirm this.
